For Residential Customers, Single-Family Home - How is My Water Bill Calculated?

Inside City Limits

                Water:  Base water charge (3/4” meter) = $13.04+ (Cubic Feet x .0286)

                Sewer:  Base residential sewer charge =  $64.77 + (Cubic Feet x .1007)

Outside City Limits

                Water:  Base water charge (3/4” meter) = $24.12+ (Cubic Feet x .0529)

                Sewer:  Base residential sewer charge = $64.77 + (Cubic Feet x .1007)

Example:

Based on average consumption, a 4-person household typically uses 1000 cubic feet per month.  The water portion of the bill calculates to $41.64 [$13.04 + $28.60 (1000 x .0286)].  For the same 1000 cubic feet, the sewer portion of the bill calculates to $165.47 [$64.77+ $100.70 (1000 x .1007)].

There is an 10 percent tax added to both the water and sewer charges.  Using the above example, the tax charges are $4.16 and $16.55.  The bill will also include the applicable garbage charge.  For a 4-person household this charge will probably be $24.06 (60 gallon cart).  There is a .036 percent garbage tax and an 10 percent utility tax based on the garbage charge (.87/2.41).  (6% is a street fund taxes goes to be used for street maintenance.)

The resulting bill for a 2-person household (600 cubic feet per month) will look like:

***Street Fund Tax is a 10% charge based on the garbage charges.  6% of the tax is used strictly for street repair and maintenance.
