Kalama is a code city managed under the Mayor/Council form of government, which consists of the Mayor and a five-member City Council, all elected by the voters. They strive to provide the Kalama citizens with services that make it a pleasant, safe, comfortable and livable community.
The City provides its citizens with services for water/sewer, garbage, building permits, community police services, library services, planning services for land use and developments, business and dog licenses, and street maintenance. With a population of about 3,065, Kalama is a community steeped in history, while working to grow the local economy to provide for a prosperous future. City Hall is located at 195 N. First St. City office are open Monday - Friday from 9am-5pm.
Council Meetings:
The City Council holds regular meetings on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month @ 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 320 N. First Street, Kalama. Special meetings or workshops are held when needed with the information being published in the Longview Daily News, posted at City Hall, city bulletin boards, and announced on the City website.
