The Utility Department handles the billing and service requests for water and sewer services for inside and outside the City limits, and garbage services for residents inside the City limits.  The City offers a low income discount for those with limited income, an adjustment for water leaks caused by water line breaks, and allows summer sewer rates.

Billing Due Dates:   Bills are issued on the last day of the Billing month and are due upon receipt.  Bills are considered "late" after the 20th of the month or the following business day if the 20th falls on a weekend or holiday.  Late fees (currently $20 per late fee) are assessed on the following day and provide a 15 day period for bills to be paid before the City will disconnect service.  No additional notice will be provided prior to disconnection.   Disconnection of services will occur on the date in the notice unless the bill is paid or arrangements have been made for payment prior to that date.

Rentals: The landlord (as the property owner) has to authorize the City to issue the utility bills directly to the tenant.  The landlord will be notified of a past due bill with a copy of the late notice. It is the landlord's and tenant's responsibility to both notify the City when the property will be vacated or newly occupied.
