Waste Control trucks are equipped with metal extensions that pick up the carts and empty them into the rear of the truck. For this reason, it is important that garbage not be stuffed into the cart (otherwise the cart may not empty fully), Place the cart so the top opening is toward the street and ensure vehicles or other obstacles are away from the cart to allow access for the garbage truck. Please make sure the lid lays flat on the cart, otherwise you may be charged an extra unit charge, which is currently $5.79.
What if my garbage pickup is missed?
If for some reason your cart is missed, please call the Utility Department @ (360) 673-4554. The City will contact Waste Control and your cart should be emptied within 48 hours.
Going on Vacation? If you are going to be gone for two consecutive weeks or more, contact the City before you leave. If contacted, the City will prorate the garbage charge on your next bill.
Need a Different Size Cart? If you live within the City limits, email Kiley Mirenta or call (360) 673-4554 for all cart exchanges.
