The City of Kalama staff is happy to present the final version of the Kalama Community Building Architectural Survey and ADA Access Feasibility Study. Thank you to our City Engineers, Gray and Osborne, for providing the services, and to the WA State Department of Commerce for providing grant funding for this project.
To all interested parties, we are sending you this document so that you have the opportunity to read it fully before we discuss during public meeting(s). We understand there is much sentiment connected to the building.

You will notice there are large dollar figures listed. These are what it would take to bring the building up to current standards, and include ADA accessibility. This does not include any additional beautification or remodeling of the building and/or it’s current footprint.
The Community Building will be an agenda item at coming council meeting(s). We expect to develop a structured and reasoned discussion about how to prioritize and proceed including identifying next steps in the decision making process. Opportunity for public comment will be provided as the council weighs the challenges and benefits of this asset.
