Any person or company doing business within the City limits of Kalama is required to have a business license.  Licenses must be obtained by January 31st each year.  Business renewals more than 30 days past due are subject to a 10 percent penalty.  New businesses beginning operations after July 1 are charged 50 percent of the business license fee.

In order to obtain a license, a business must have a Washington State UBI (Unified Business Identifier) number, submit a completed Business License Application form, and pay the required fee.   Door-to-door solicitors, taxi companies, and businesses that operate coin-operated games of skill are also subject to additional licensing requirements.  Refer to Title 5 of the Kalama Municipal Code for detailed information regarding business licensing.

Businesses have three options for obtaining their business license.

  • Fill out the online Business License Application and submit payment online.  (There is no additional fee if an echeck is used.  If a credit card is used, a $2.95 fee will be added to the license fee.)
